Good news at the Grove Theatre!

26 Nov 2019

The Grove Theatre offers a wealth of opportunities for young people, and today we are highlighting the extraordinary talents of Jay! Jay’s exciting journey with the Grove began just over a year ago in the summer of 2018 when he won the role of The Artful Dodger in our summer production of Oliver! He subsequently joined Grove Performing Arts Academy and was nominated for the Outstanding Effort and Achievement award in both his first and second terms. Jay then successfully auditioned and won the principal role of Poor Baby in the annual Grove Production Project 2019 – Whistle down the Wind.

During his third term with us this Autumn Jay has had the opportunity to audition along with several of our other Grove Academy and Youth Theatre students for this year’s pantomime Peter Pan. His talent and enthusiasm shone through and he won the role of John!

We are immensely proud of this incredibly kind and polite young man who is an absolute pleasure to teach and direct.

‘Grove Academy is a community that has helped me to find my own personality and has helped me to express it as well. I hope to stay at the Grove for the years coming so I can learn even more than I already have in such a short space of time.’ – Jay age 13
