Live at the Grove returns with 5 brand new top comedians.
Keith Farnan: Formerly a solicitor, Keith has performed as a stand-up all over the world. From the Boston International Comedy Festival to Hong Kong to the Middle East, he has performed his engaging, high energy, ‘seriously funny’ brand of comedy.
Chris Betts: Chris Betts’ mind is a curious place, where the philosophical meets the ridiculous. His shows are a perfect balance of incisive social satire and complete silliness. He has a style that is equal parts confident, thoughtful, ridiculous and mischievous.
Mike Gunn: Mike Gunn’s history is as interesting and entertaining as his comedy. He’s been a successful stand-up comedian for over 15 years, but his road to success was a rocky one involving a misspent youth, a heroin addiction spanning 15 years and a stint in a psychiatric unit. Thankfully his sordid past is long behind him; but it cultivated a deeply cynical outlook and a perverse desire led him into the world of stand-up. A self-confessed pessimist, he describes himself as “not a natural choice for a career in laughter”. The evidence however, might suggest otherwise.
Nico Yearwood: He has travelled all over the world performing in shows from Scandinavia to Eastern Europe to Wetwang in Yorkshire. Nico’s charisma gives him license to handle more controversial topics that other comedians might shy away from and his upbringing in Barbados allows him to present a unique and hilarious perspective on sensitive topics such as race, religion and gender, all the while with a glint in his eye that puts the audience at ease and laughing out loud.
Tom Wrigglesworth: Tom Wrigglesworth is an established stand-up comedian, Radio and TV presenter and voice-over artist from Sheffield, England. He is best known for his live storytelling shows and BBC Radio comedy programmes which take a comical and emotional look at family relationships. Alongside his comedy work, he’s used his engineering background to become a natural and engaging presenter for BBC Television and The Discovery Channel. As well as appearing on Russell Howard’s Good News, Tom has won both a Sony Radio Award and Chortle Comedy Award.
