Grove Summer Musical Project

Every year the Grove Theatre stages a summer musical project aiming to give young people aged 10-21 an opportunity to gain experience in, and an understanding of, the process behind a musical production.  After auditioning they work with industry professionals through two weeks of intense tuition and rehearsals, culminating in four fully-staged performances in August.  It is a fantastic chance to see how a production is put together, from first rehearsal to final performance and everything in between.

This year the project runs from Saturday 3 August to Saturday 17 August, with performances on Thursday 15 August 7.30pm, Friday 16 August 7.30pm and Saturday 17 August 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Technicians:
This year we are also offering six backstage technical places for young people aged 14-21. If you have an interest in technical theatre or ever wondered what life is like behind the scenes, why not apply to work backstage during the Grove Summer Musical Project, where you’ll be guided by a fully professional technical team?

Musicians:
If you have a flair for music and can play an instrument at grade 5 level or above then why not apply to be a part of the Grove Summer Musical Project orchestra? Under the guide of a professional musical director you’ll have the chance to work with West Side Story’s challenging and exciting score.
