Record-Breaking Box Office Smash Hit Does It Again!

4 April 2014

Legendary play, The Mousetrap, has broken another record this week with the largest audience size the Grove Theatre has seen for a week-long run. This exquisite production is half-way through an 8 performance run at the venue as part of the show’s diamond anniversary tour.

The play is a landmark within the world of theatre and famous around the world for being the longest running show of any kind in the history of British theatre. Peter Saunders, the original producer of The Mousetrap, expected the play to run for only fourteen months. Dame Agatha Christie herself did not expect the play to run for long either and declared, “It won’t run that long. Eight months perhaps. Yes I think eight months.” 60 years later the play continues to captivate audiences with its clever plot, which is full of suspense and will certainly have you on the edge of your seat.

The scene is set when a group of people are gathered in a country house cut off by the snow and discover, to their horror, that there is murderer in their midst. Who can it be? One by one, the suspicious characters reveal their sordid pasts until at the last, nerve-shredding moment the identity and the motive of the killer are finally revealed.

Don’t miss your chance to be part of history, grab this once in a life-time opportunity to see the British theatre masterpiece and be part of a record breaking audience at the Grove Theatre.
