An exceptional young artiste and his live band

PETER GRANT HAS COME ALONG LIKE A MUCH NEEDED BREATH OF FRESH AIR. AMAZINGLY, HE DOESN'T JUST SING SONGS, HE LIVES THEM. (Don Black, Songwriter)

As a 21 year old singer/pianist from Yorkshire, Peter Grant has re-interpreted some classic songs with love and a real enthusiasm to create his debut album New Vintage. Peter's voice serves as an impeccable connection bringing the past into the present. I LOVE THESE SONGS, says Peter, whose musical taste crosses right over from singer-songwriters to soul, hip-hop and free jazz. NO ONE EVER TOLD ME TO LISTEN TO THIS KIND OF MUSIC, IT'S JUST WHAT I LISTENED TO GROWING UP.

As well as songs such as The Best is Yet to Come, Joanna and The Windmills Of Your Mind Peter's album boasts swing versions of Your The First, The Last, My Everything, I Saw Her Standing There and surprisingly the Kaisers Chiefs hit Modern Way.

Peter has an amazing, mature sounding voice. He already has many celebrity fans who have hailed him as the next Harry Connick Junior or Frank Sinatra (Peter's idols). Last year he was invited to appear at the London Palladium to celebrate Don Black's 70th birthday with a host of other stars.

One of the most powerful men in showbiz has taken an interest in Peter, none other than Michael Parkinson! Parkinson has played Peter's songs frequently on his BBC Radio 2 show, and says HE'S A REAL FIND THIS KID; GREAT VOICE, GREAT DICTION AND GREAT CLARITY. I'M GENTLY RAVING ABOUT HIM LIKE I DID WITH JAMIE CULLUM, WITH A VOICE THAT WILL ONLY GET BETTER. Parkinson owns his very own pub in Berkshire, The Royal Oak, where Peter has performed a few times before him and the locals.

Other DJ's on BBC's Radio 2 have taken an interest in Peter too. Presenters such as Elaine Paige, Kirsty Young and Brian Hayes, have supported and played Peter's tracks on their shows.

Performing is not a new thing for Peter; it all started a very long time ago when his father, Peter Grant Senior, was touring himself! Peter used to jump up on stage alongside his singing father and suddenly got the bug! He entered numerous talent contests and played on many a showcase and cruise ship, before landing his precious record contract. He also fronted the big band in Blackpool Tower Ballroom for a season which was a great learning curve for the 17 year old.

Following the huge success of Peter's album New Vintage which charted at number 8 and has since gone Gold, Peter embarked on his first national Tour of his own. This has seen him play prestigious venues such as Leeds City Varieties and the legendary Ronnie Scotts, and The Pigalle Club in London.

Together with Steve Price's band, Peter's rich, mature voice swings its way through many of the greatest songs ever written, including: The Lady Is A Tramp, The Best is Yet to Come, Joanna, Ain't That A Kick In The Head, On Days Like These and many, many more.

This year Peter has been invited to appear with the Northern Ballet Theatre at the Sadler's Wells Theatre in London in May - a new concept created by the Director of Northern Ballet Theatre - and it is an honour for Peter to be involved.
