Acclaimed Orchestra of the Swan creates Goose bumps in Grove Theatre!
South Bedfordshire District Council is pleased to announce that the celebrated Orchestra of the Swan (OOTS), will be performing in Dunstable's Grove Theatre on Sunday 2 November 2008 at 2.30pm.
Frequently chosen by The Guardian and The Telegraph, as pick of the week, the Orchestra of The Swan will perform a variety of pieces including Mendelssohn's much loved Italian symphony and Shostakovitch's Cello Concerto No. 1 featuring the remarkable young soloist Matthew Sharp.

The concert will be launching South Bedfordshire District Council's brand new Urban Orchestra project, which will see a series of community projects and concerts taking place across the district in 2008/2009.
The project is a partnership between South Bedfordshire District Council, Orchestras Live, and Orchestra of the Swan, Beds County Council youth and music services and will involve a buzz of activity happening in the community when musicians from the orchestra together with young people from the district create original pieces of music and perform in the villages of
Arts Development Officer for South Bedfordshire District Council, Emma Van Nieuwenburgh said: "We are very excited by the chance to bring this professional orchestra into our district, it is a great opportunity to hear live classical music on our own doorstep and we expect over 2,000 young people and rural residents to take part in the next six months."
Dave Curtis conductor with Orchestra of the Swan said: "We are delighted to be returning to the Grove Theatre on 2 November with a programme of wonderful music and a superb soloist, Matthew Sharp.
