More great news from the Grove Theatre!

20 Dec 2019

As part of our series of success stories, we are today thrilled to highlight the talents of Samuel, whom we first met when he signed up for Grove Academy in September 2016!

It soon became apparent that Samuel had a particular talent for singing and it wasn’t long before his voice won him a place in the National Youth Choir.  In the summer of 2018 Samuel landed his first lead role with us as Oliver in our annual Grove Production Project of ‘Oliver! ‘and then went on to play Flounder in the Grove Academy annual show 2019 ‘The Little Mermaid.’

Samuel’s talent is developing continuously and as well as winning second place in our recent annual talent show singing ‘A Bunch of Thyme’ by Michael Neaum, he has also just been cast as Seymour in the Grove Academy annual show 2020 ‘Little Shop of Horrors’!

Samuel has achieved the following at Grove Academy:

Nomination – Outstanding Effort and Achievement April 2017

Winner – Excellent Progress April 2018

Samuel as Oliver in August 2018

‘Grove Academy have helped me with all aspects of the performing arts. They’ve helped me most with singing and giving me lots of confidence. I probably wouldn’t be in the National Youth Choir if it wasn’t for Grove.‘  – Samuel age 12
