The Upbeat Beatles want to know is there anyone out there in our area who performed with The Beatles in the early years? Are you still together as a band? Could you get back together? Do you want the chance to relive those days?

The Upbeat Beatles are offering you the chance to do a couple of songs (not Beatles) before their set on Saturday 25 May at 7.30pm.

Even if you just want the chance to spend five minutes reliving that night from the stage, we want to hear from you.

‘Toadfish’ from Neighbours, played by Ryan Moloney who recently came third in Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother, will return to the UK from Australia in December, to star in the pantomime as the show’s comedy character, Idle Jack.

Second on the billing at the Grove, is possibly the most famous soap character of all time, Dirty Den, aka Leslie Grantham, from the nation’s most loved soap, Eastenders. Leslie is delighted to be joining the cast, playing the panto baddie, King Rat.

Ryan joined Neighbours to play Jarrod ‘Toadfish’ Rebecchi in 1995 and has been one of the soap’s most popular characters ever since. No stranger to pantomime, Ryan has played the most famous panto comic of them all, Buttons in Cinderella, in Canterbury and Sheffield.

On screen, Leslie played Britain’s most watched soap villain, Den Watts. In the Christmas day Eastenders episode in 1986, more than 30 million people (more than half the UK population at that time) tuned in to watch Dirty Den hand the divorce papers to his wife, Angie. Leslie later returned to the soap between 2003-2005.

On stage, Leslie has toured the UK in numerous plays, and is one of the UK’s most sought after panto villains. He has starred in pantomimes around the country, including Wolverhampton, Bradford, Newcastle, Wimbledon, Wycombe, Birmingham, Nottingham, St Albans, Hastings, Sevenoaks and now Dunstable!

Would you like to be part of the one of the most successful musicals of all time? West Side Story will be brought to life on stage at the Grove Theatre this August. The Grove Education Department is looking for talented 10-21 year olds to audition for this summer’s project and enjoy a few fabulous summer weeks.

Set in the 1950s, West Side Story is an adaptation of Shakespeares’s classic romantic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. The musical is set in New York City, where rival street gangs the Jets and the Sharks battle for territory and respect. Amidst all this rivalry, Tony, a Jet and Maria, the sister of the leader of the Sharks, meet at a dance and fall in love, testing the bonds of family and friendship, will their love destroy all the people they love around them…

Do you see yourself performing in front of live audiences? Are you the next Tony or Maria? Get down to the Grove Theatre on Sunday 28^th April from 10am to join the audition-mania.

Are you aged 14-21? Are you a talented musician at Grade 5 or above? Grove Theatre is also offering you the wonderful opportunity to be part of the project as a musician, playing the sensational music from West Side Story. Ever wanted to work backstage? Six lucky people will have the chance to work behind the scenes on the project and be guided by a fully professional technical team.

A fantastic chance for young people to get together, meet new people and learn from some of the best professional theatre practitioners in the performing arts industry.

The project will run between Saturday 3^rd August and Saturday 17^th August with performances to the public on Thursday 15^th August at 7.30pm, Friday 16^th August at 7.30pm and Saturday 17^th August at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Auditions for West Side Story will take place on Sunday 28^th April from 10am at the Grove Theatre.
